What It Means To Be A Deacon…

Being a deacon means many things to me. However, “Servant” is the word that most often comes to my mind. Deacons are called to servanthood. We are called to serve God. We try to show the world the same love, mercy, and forgiveness Christ shows us. We encounter multitudes of hurting people who need our love, mercy, and forgiveness. We render service by ministering to the lost, sick, poor, and aged. We provide support and care for one another. The deacons encourage each other. However, I am most encouraged by the Winstanley Church family. I see the Winstanley family put Christian service into practice each and every day. It is uplifting to know all the serving being done. We are all servants of Christ. Serving is a key to being like Jesus. The deacons along with the church family shares the love of Christ with the world. I am blessed to be part of this family.
